Shashi Tharoor tweets in Hindi On World Hindi Day, gets trolled for grammatical error

Shashi Tharoor’s brilliant vocabulary and exceptional command over English language has often wowed many on social media.

Mr. Tharoor’s mind-boggling vocabulary has made his followers sit with a dictionary while scrolling his Twitter timeline.

However, seems like such is not the case with Tharoor when it comes to Hindi. Tweeting on World Hindi Day, the politician decided to change his preferred language to Hindi while wishing his followers. Surprisingly, the results did not seem all that satisfactory. In his tweet, Tharoor wrote, “वर्ल्ड हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर मेरे हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं |”. The tweet, when translated in English means: “Best wishes on the occasion of World Hindi Day”.

However, the ever so observant Twitter brigade caught him on the wrong foot.

Tharoor mistakenly wrote ‘Mere’ instead of ‘Meri’ and ‘world’ instead of ‘vishwa’

This was enough for Tweeples to poke fun at the Congress leader

However, some were supportive of Tharoor

Recently, Tharoor had a spat with Sushma Swaraj, in Lok Sabha over making Hindi as the official language at the UN
